Joshua is dedicated to building vibrant, healthy neighborhoods. He is focused on affordable housing linked to economic development rooted in culture, creativity and arts. Prior to his current role at Community Arts Stabilization Trust (CAST), Joshua worked for East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) for nearly 20 years. He also spent seven years as Director of Real Estate Consulting for the Northern California Community Loan Fund (NCCLF), now known as Community Vision, where he helped nonprofits increase their impact by changing their facilities to better serve their programs.

His work has included project management for mixed-use complexes that combine affordable rental apartments with nonprofit and neighborhood serving retail facilities. Examples include Oakland’s Swan's Market,The San Pablo Hotel Senior Housing, Hismen Hin-Nu Terrace Apartments and renovation of San Francisco’s Project Artaud live/work and theater complex, among others. His experience also includes tax credit syndication (LIHTC, NMTC and Historic), neighborhood serving retail, nonprofit office space. air rights sub-division, and CoHousing condominiums.

Throughout his career, Joshua has been an active civic leader, serving for 13 years on the board of the Emeryville Unified School District. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Northern California Non Profit Housing Association (NPH). He is one of four Co-Chairs for the All Home Regional Impact Counsel which is working to develop regional solutions to address homelessness. Joshua holds a MS in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
