Earthquake Resilience Policy Manager
As Earthquake Resilience Policy Manager, Sarah (she/her) leads SPUR’s work in developing policies and organizing stakeholders to protect our region during and after our next major earthquake. Prior to joining SPUR, Sarah worked in food access, urban greening, and environmental and health education in both the Bay Area and Massachusetts. In graduate school, her interests revolved around community resilience and resistance in the face of environmental hazards and systemic economic injustice. She has a background in communications, partnership building, and research and advocacy, and a passion for finding solutions to our region's wicked problems. She received her master’s in city and regional planning and her bachelor’s in environmental sciences from UC Berkeley. In her free time, Sarah loves to get outside for a hike or bike ride, read dystopian sci-fi novels by authors like Octavia Butler and Margaret Atwood, and share meals with friends.
